Submergence

I was born the 29th of January, 1947 in Székelykeve (Skorenovac). My ancestors were Székely people Bukovina, who moved to the Lower Danube region in 1883, carrying with them a unique world of tradition (usage of language, treasure of songs and their way of living). I grew up in that environment. Later I became a pupil of the Grammar School in Becse (Bece). I got my degree in 1971 at the Teacher Training College in Újvidék (Novi Sad), the Faculty of Fine Arts. I have been more involved in graphics since 1989. My most often used ways of expression are monotype, montage-graphic and drypoint. Apart these, I am familiar with applied arts as well, mainly pottery and felt-making. The first exhibition of my graphics was in Novi Sad in 1991. During the same year at the „Katona József„ graphic competition in Kecskemét (Hungary), three of my works received the special prize the Lakitelek Foundation. Award Forum In 1996 I was awarded the “TAKT” Prize, and in 1999 I received the „Forum„ Award for Fine Arts. In 2009. I got the price „Pro Urbe” the city of Zenta. I was the artistic coordinator of the “Piktor” Fine Arts Workshop and Nursery of Artists in Esztergom (Hungary) 1995 to 2006 (when it ended). Since 1999 I have been the artistic director of the graphic’s workshop of the Nursery of Artists in Zenta.
